WITH reference to your article of February 22 regarding the green belt being under threat, I was surprised to read of Cllr Philip Davies expressing concern about the pressure on Wirral Council to build houses on green belt land because of governmental demands.
He is reported as saying that he is not prepared to allow our green belt land to be built on.
Can this be the same Phil Davies who is so firmly in favour of not only encouraging the development of a golf resort and hotel on green belt land adjacent to Hoylake but also planning to build 100-to-150 houses (none of which will provide social housing) on that green belt land?
I am astounded by such hypocrisy and inconsistency.
