LIVERPOOL band The Farm will join Madness as their support act when they perform at Tranmere Rovers' ground later this year.

The band, famous for hits such as All Together Now, Groovy Train and Stepping Stone, will perform on the opening night of Wirral Live - three days of concerts at Prenton Park - which take place from May 19-21.

Originally formed in the early 1980s, The Farm released their first single Hearts and Minds in 1984 which was produced by Graham Suggs McPherson, lead vocalist of Madness.

But it was not until the early 1990s that the band enjoyed major success and their first studio album Spartacus topped the UK album charts in 1991.

In more recent times, The Farm have been performing a major music festivals and re-recorded a version of All Together Now in 2004 as the official anthem for the England football team at the European Championships.

They also helped form The Justice Collective who had a number one single with He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother in aid of the Hillsborough Family Support Group.

Chart-topping girl band Little Mix will perform on the final night of Wirral Live.
