LAST Saturday we travelled over from South Lincolnshire to see our grandchildren in West Kirby and called into a Morrisons' store to pick up some flowers to give to our daughter.
On the way back to the car the contents of my wife's handbag fell out including purse, credit cards etc without her noticing until we started to drive off.
Having had a very long and stressful journey with several traffic jams, this was the final straw which left my wife very distraught.
I retraced our steps and enquired at the Morrisons' service desk, returning to the car without success and then began another sweep, ending up at the service desk again just as a lady shopper arrived carrying all the items lost from my wife’s bag.
I would just like to thank her publicly again for saving our weekend and commend her public spirited behaviour through your newspaper.
When we recounted the events later to our son-in-law, he commented that West Kirby folk are very honest.
Bill Lewis, Spalding.
