IT was with interest I read your feature by Craig Manning headlined New fire station criticism.
I live close by this area and it is the only piece of greenbelt in this area. It is overlooked by people with mobility problems.
Their view is of a copse and a meadow. Local people walk their dogs, children play and adults meet for chats.
This much-loved area is going to be replaced with two buildings resembling cowsheds!
The sad thing is there are at least 15 areas, with greenbelt that would be suitable.
Is the Labour-controlled council punishing the residents for having the temerity to elect three hardworking Conservative councillors?
Would the outcome have been different if Labour had won these seats?
Residents of Upton and Saughall Massie will remember this betrayal in two years' time when the next council elections will be held.
Greasby got their way in not having the station built.
Could this be at the time a general election was coming up?
Mrs Beryl Baillie, Upton
