PLANS for a two and three bedroom housing complex to be built in West Kirby have been submitted

A planning application has been sent to Wirral Council for the three-storey terraced properties to be built at the junction of Banks Road and Ashton Drive.

The development would replace the sheltered housing unit, which currently occupies the site.

A total of 14 homes will be built if plans are approved, each with a private garden and off-road parking.

Chesterfield-based Starfish Group Ltd are the housing developers who have made the application.

Following a pre-planning application meeting which was held at Wirral Council office in March this year, it was advised the homes would need to have a traditional layout in keeping with the existing houses nearby.

The design brief  states the homes will be built aiming “to benefit the visual amenity of the surrounding area by creating interesting house types that satisfies local housing needs.”

According to the housing developer's website, their intention is to not only economically improve the region, but also to environmentally and socially develop the North West.

In the application, they have said: “It is our intention to enhance the quality of residential properties available by providing sound and well-constructed dwellings that will sustain the local community for many years to come.

“The scheme has been designed such that it will respect the existing style, scale and character of the immediate context.”

No formal decision has been made yet.
