Poulton Road was closed due to the incident, which saw a 27-year-old man detained
A WIRRAL road was closed on Saturday following an incident which saw a man detained.
Merseyside police were called to Poulton Road, Wallasey at around 12.20am after receiving reports of concern for the safety of a 27-year-old male.
Crews from Merseyside fire service were also in attendance together with a search and rescue team.
The Poulton Road and the tunnel approach were closed temporarily while emergency service spoke to the man.
He was later detained under the Mental Health Act and taken to Arrowe Park hospital.
No further details have been released yet regarding this incident.
Fire crews remained the scene until around 3.25am.
