A driver was taken to hospital after her car crashed near the entrance to the Wallasey tunnel.
Emergency services were called to the scene on the approach road on Monday at around 6.45am after the BMW car became entangled in the central reservation.
The southbound carriageway heading towards Wirral was closed to allow police and ambulance services to access the vehicle.
The car was removed at around 8am and the lane reopened.
The driver, who was the only person in the car at the time, was taken to Arrowe Park Hospital as a precaution.
