RECENTLY I walked around the Moreton Cross area near the Coach and Horses once a much-photographed building in what was used to be Moreton Village, today of course it's more a forgotten town.
I looked at the now empty British Legion the main entrance full of litter; the Cenotaph now removed to a street corner, the area along Cadbury’s factory used to be a lovely stream which ran along the Pasture Road end is now full of litter, in fact the entire area surrounding Merseyrail is terrible (no fault of Merseyrail who keep the station lovely and clean).
Yes Moreton the forgotten town, only recognised by the council when the ever-increasing crippling community charge drops through our doors.
I begrudge every penny of it when I look around at the neglect and utter decline.
So where does all the money go?
Council or Government of the day "give us a clue."
