AN elderly couple have died following a fire at a house in West Kirby earlier this morning.
Firecrews were called to the incident in Boulton Avenue at around 1.40am.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene and the woman was taken to Arrowe Park Hospital, but later died.

One neighbour, who knew the couple had last seen them on Saturday.
He told the Globe: "If they ever had a problem they always knocked on our door.
"They were a lovely couple."
Investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing, but at this stage it is not thought to be suspicious.
