MOTORISTS are being advised to find alternative routes to and from Wallasey and Birkenhead docks tomorrow morning as detectives investigating the death of PC Dave Phillips carry out a reconstruction.

Wallasey Docks link road will be closed between 10am and around 12pm on Thursday.

Those travelling in and out of the Wallasey and Birkenhead docks during this period are advised to access the M53 at junction one and use either Bidston Link Road or Hoylake Road.

The Wallasey Docks link road is being closed from the M53 to the roundabout where Wallasey Bridge Road and Poulton Bridge Road begin.

A spokesman for Merseyside Police said: "This is to allow detectives investigating the death of PC Dave Phillips to carry out a reconstruction for court purposes.

"Local businesses have been given advance notice and Merseyside Police is grateful to them, as well as any motorists inconvenienced by the temporary closure, for their patience while this police work is carried out."
