AS the smoke and mirrors continue to drop away from George Osborne's budget we are seeing the true impact of a Conservative chancellor freed from the moderating influence of the coalition.
An independent Runnymede Trust study confirms something many of us knew already.
The Conservatives have made a political choice to target the vulnerable in society and families in work who are struggling to get by. And Labour made an unprincipled choice not to vote against these changes.
This budget will undoubtedly lead to a rise in inequality, and turns a blind eye to the dangerous impact of child poverty.
It is shameful and depressing that the Tories seem so keen to denigrate anyone who needs support to get by, to better themselves and give hope to their children.
