DETECTIVES have released CCTV stills of a man they would like to speak to after a security guard was racially abused in Birkenhead.

The victim was left shaken following the incident, which happened at around 5.20pm on July when he was working in Aldi on Laird Street.

Detective Constable Bob Murray said: "This was a completely unprovoked verbal attack on a man, who was just trying to do his job.

"I'm sure the public would agree, this type of behaviour is clearly unacceptable and I would appeal to anyone who has any information about this incident, or anyone who recognises the man pictured to get in contact, so we can take positive action.

"We are dedicated to stamping out racism and any other type of hate crime on Merseyside. Specialist officers from our hate crime investigation team SIGMA, are investigating this incident."
