HOLLYWOOD A-lister Hugh Grant was on set in New Brighton this afternoon as filming took place for one of the most anticipated movies of the year.
Shooting for Stephen Frears’ latest biopic "Florence Foster Jenkins" was also taking place in Hoylake and Liverpool city centre.
The film follows the story of Florence Foster Jenkins, a New York heiress who dreamed of becoming an opera singer, despite having a terrible singing voice.
Hugh was seen filming scenes in a 1940s Ford convertible with Rebecca Ferguson, who starred in Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation.
Oscar-winning actress Meryl Streep is starring as Foster Jenkins, while Hugh plays her supportive husband and manager St Clair Bayfield in the comedy, which is currently shooting at locations in the UK.
As filming took place close to New Brighton's golf course, people gathered on the sand dunes curious to see what was happening as Hugh was driven past by with Rebecca at the wheel.
Written by Nicholas Martin, Florence Foster Jenkins also stars The Big Bang Theory’s Simon Helberg and Nina Arianda.
The film’s release date is yet to be announced.
