DETECTIVES are investigating the unexplained death of a man whose body was found on the driveway of a house in Wallasey this morning.

Police were called to Grove Road by member of the public at around 8am.

On arrival, they found the body of a man, believed to be in his 20s. He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

At this stage there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.

Crime scene investigators are currently carrying out forensic examinations at the scene and Grove Road is currently closed between Warren Drive and Rockland Road.

Residents said they saw around eight police cars and an ambulance rushing to the scene.

The Wallaseyans Club on Grove Road was also sealed off as part of the police investigation, with a search taking place in part of the grounds.

A Home Office post mortem will be carried out to establish the cause of death and a file will be prepared in due course for the coroner.
