MOTORISTS are being advised to avoid a busy road in Eastham following a collision between a car and a motorbike.
Police were called to the junction of New Chester Road and Heygarth Road at 9.05am today, Tuesday, following reports of a crash.
On arrival, emergency services found a Volkswagen Touran had been in a collision with a Kawasaki motorbike.
A spokesman for Merseyside Police said: "The motorcyclist is believed to have a leg injury.
"Road closures are still in place and emergency services are in attendance."
The road is closed between Heygarth Road and Bridle Road and is affecting traffic heading towards the M53 from Bromborough.
