WHILE residents and Old Rock Ferrians alike will not easily give up the fight to save the "unsaveable", it falls upon the council to make a number of promises in the interim.
At least 50% of the unique Rock Ferry High School site must be retained as a green space for use by the people of Rock Ferry.
Ravenswood - Grade II listed - and the 1930s main building with its ornate entrance, known by generations of Rock Ferrians as "Q", should be preserved, albeit the future function of both may now be residential.
Finally - and most importantly - a lasting memorial to the 48 Old Rock Ferrians who fell in the Second World War should be set on the site of the old Stoneleigh.
