A POP Up Pirates Day will take place in New Brighton this Sunday.
Featuring a number of free family fun activities, it marks the start of a series of curtain-raisers for Mersey Pirates and Mermaids Day, which will take place in the resort town on September 15.
This weekend's activities take place at the Marine Lake near Fort Perch Rock.
They include a Treasure Trail, Walk The Plank and Face Painting.
Proceeds from the event will go to soldiers' charity Help For Heroes and Macmillan Nurses.
A spokesman for organisers, Mersey Compass, said: "Sunday sees the first Pop Up Pirate party getting ready for September 15 when New Brighton will become the pirate and mermaid capital.
"This Sunday will be a great family fun day."
