STAFF from chemicals company Innospec raised £2,700 for Clatterbridge Cancer Charity by running, walking and cycling 16 miles in fancy dress.

Organised by the firm’s shift team leader Steve Halligan and took place between the company’s Widnes site and its manufacturing base in Ellesmere Port. Steve dressed as Elvis Presley to take part, joining his colleagues for the event.

Mairead Dyke, Innospec's tenant manager and charity co-ordinator said: “We all wanted to support our local cancer centre as a number of staff members have been treated there.

"They speak so highly of the staff at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre, and we are so grateful for the amazing care they received.

"The run was great fun – everyone put in so much effort, hard-work and training to ensure the event was a success. and we are delighted with the amount raised."

Jade Barrett, area fundraising manager for Clatterbridge Cancer Charity, said: "Our friends at Innospec have been so supportive of The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity and have made a huge difference to the work we do.
