THE award-winning Colwyn Male Voice Choir will open the new season of entertainment at Port Sunlight’s Gladstone Theatre.

Fresh from a sucessful tour of France and Belgium the choir will entertain with a mixed programme of welsh traditional and modern songs at the Greendale Road venue on Saturday, August 31. They will be joined by invited soloists.

Looking ahead to the new season, theatre spokesman Alan Davies said: "Presently we are busy sprucing up the Theatre prior to the commencement of the new season.

"All the curtains on stage and in the auditorium are being replaced to improve appearance and soundproofing.

"As our community Theatre is staffed on a volunteer basis we are always on the look-out for assistance with the stewarding of our shows.

"Anyone wanting receive training and then to help as a Theatre Steward should contact our Theatre Administrator, Trish Wood, on 643 8757 or enquire@gladstonetheatre.org.uk"
