WITH regards to the letter about junk mail, ("Take Heart," Globe, November 29), I would like to correct the author on a number of points that his letter raised.

Royal Mail have a duty to deliver this so called "junk mail" as he describes it. Customers pay a lot of money to use the door to door service to advertise their products as it has a proven record in promoting sales. They also have a legal duty to advise that by not receiving this service, customers will miss out on information sent out by all political parties, government and police authorities.

This is not blackmail but a fact! The author also states that Royal Mail care neither for the enviroment or disabled people, but where is his evidence to support this?

As a Royal Mail employee I can assure him that he is miles away from the truth.
