Coronation Street viewers turned on Nick Tilsley after it was revealed he was apparently the one who stole his grandmother Audrey Roberts’s savings.
Audrey (Sue Nicholls) was devastated when she discovered that £80,000 had been swiped from her bank account.
And it looked as if the culprit could have been her late partner Lewis Archer (Nigel Havers).
But in Wednesday night’s instalment of the ITV soap, her grandson Nick (Ben Price) was seen with a holdall full of cash, suggesting he was actually the thief.
Fans of the soap were horrified.
“Said it was nick he looked guilty as ever how can he stoop that low to steel from his own gran!!” said one person on Twitter.
“Oh my god, Nick you absolute swine,” posted another.
“A grandson stealing from his grandmother and watching her denigrate her partner’s memory while she accuses others of being in on it? There is no coming back from that.”
“Nick Tilsley you absolute snake,” tweeted another.
One viewer said: “How low and desperate can you be to steal from your own grandmother.
“Nick is a disgrace.”
Coronation Street continues on ITV.
