Carey Mulligan has been keeping mum about the birth of her first child last month – and has only just revealed that she has welcomed a baby girl.
Now the actress, married to Mumford And Sons frontman Marcus Mumford, has finally revealed the name of her daughter as she stepped out on the red carpet for the premiere of her latest film Suffragette.
Speaking at the screening in New York, Carey confirmed she had had a baby girl, after breaking the news on Graham Norton’s TV show last week.
And the baby’s name is Evelyn, the smiling star revealed on the red carpet.
Asked why she had chosen the name, the 30-year-old told Entertainment Tonight she “just came up with it”.
The new mum said she had been too busy with the baby to process the experience.
She said: “Ask me that in five years.”
