A WIRRAL DJ who has worked with global superstars Paul Oakenfold and Calvin Harris will mix the decks during a fashion extravaganza in Birkenhead this weekend.

Music mixer extraordinaire Sean Hughes, who rocked the crowds at Cannes Film Festival last year, will work the vinyl during the show at Pyramids Shopping Centre on Saturday and Sunday, March 29 and 30.

The showcase, organised by Wirral-based Frame Modelling and Casting Agency, will see male, female and child models put on 10 shows. It is hosted by actress Suzanne Collins.

Sean has been sharing his sounds on the club scene for nearly 25 years and will soon release his latest mix of music on iTunes.

Looking forward to this weekend, he said: "This sort of high profile, energy filled event is always great fun to do and it's always terrific playing somewhere local. It looks set to be a great weekend at the Pyramids!"

Last year Sean was at Cannes Film Festival in May warming up the audience ahead of Justin Timberlake, Art Department and Diplo at the exclusive beachfront club ‘Torch’.

A few months later he was playing to more than 15,000 people on the Creamfields South Stage.

But in the middle of all this, he was also working his music magic at the Mecca for dance music – the Spanish island of Ibiza - where he enjoyed a summer residency.

He was stirring up the party at one of the biggest club nights on the island – Cream Ibiza – and at one of the world’s most famous sunset bars – Café Del Mar.

He arrived there on his bike after cycling from West Kirby to the party island – a distance of 1300 miles – to raise close to £5,000 for Clatterbridge Cancer Charity.

Recalling his time in Ibiza, Sean said: “It allowed me to warm-up and close for some of the world’s finest DJs including Marco Carola , DJ Sneak , Joesph Captati , Paul Oakenfold , Paul Van Dyk , Calvin Harris and Laidback Luke to name a few.

“It was during one of his sets for Cream Ibiza that I was spotted by DJ Jaguar Skills’ management team and subsequently asked to join Jag on his 2013 UK Winter Tour.”

Louisa Houghton, who owns Frame Modelling and Casting Agency with Laura Seymour, said: “It’s out chance to really put Wirral on the map for fashion and I think people will be pleasantly surprised with just how much is on offer at Pyramids Shopping Centre, right in the heart of Birkenhead and just on the doorstep.”

Derek Millar, Pyramids Shopping Centre’s commercial director of Pyramids Shopping said: “This is our way of letting Wirral shoppers see that all the must have and latest fashions and styles can be found on the doorstep.

“With the added element of glamorous stars such as Suzanne and top tunes by Sean, it is really shaping up to be a showstopping fashion extravaganza which is not to be missed.”
