POETS are being reminded that entries close for the Christopher Salmon Poetry Competition 2023 this month.
The annual poetry competition began in 2010 in memory of Chris Salmon, a student at Calday Grammar School who tragically died from a rare streptococcal infection in February 2009, aged 15.
The theme of this year’s competition is “sunshine” and the competition is open to people in Wirral who are aged 19 and under and are in full-time education.
Entry is free and a cash prize of £100 will be awarded to the winners in each of the five age categories.
The competition is run by Christopher Salmon Foundation, in conjunction with Wirral Poetry Festival and Wirral Libraries and full entry details are available on the Wirral Poetry Festival website.
The deadline for this those wanting to enter this year’s competition is Friday, March 31, 2023.
