Eileen Mary Barrett

BARRETT Eileen Mary The family of Eileen Mary Barrett are heartbroken to announce the passing of their remarkable and special mum, wife, sister, auntie and friend to many, on October 10, 2021, at the age of 72. Eileen was born and bred in Wallasey, to parents Sylvester, a cork merchant, and Helen Torpey, a homemaker turned teacher. Eileen's sense of adventure led her to stints living in Paris and Italy, where became fluent in both native languages and developed her voracious curiosity about the world. Over a forty-year teaching career spanning London and Wirral, she inspired and nurtured countless students with her passion for learning, and love of linguistics and history. She married John Barrett and raised two daughters, Lucy and Frances. Eileen will be remembered for her incredible generosity, frequently going above and beyond to help loved ones and strangers alike, her wicked sense of humour and fun-loving nature. Eileen is survived by Lucy and Fran, sons-in-law Scott and Chaz, and siblings Sheila and Denis. She will be forever missed and loved. Requiem mass at St Albans Church, Wallasey, on Wednesday 27th October 2021 at 12 noon, followed by interment at Frankby Cemetery at 1.30pm. All enquiries c/o Kenna and Turner Funeral Directors, Breezehill Funeral Home, 31 Rowson Street, Wallasey. Tel 0151 638 4444.
