EU is Big Brother

WITH motoring costs in general, and fuel prices in particular, at an all time high, Lib Dem minister Norman Baker's plans to scrap road tax and lower fuel duty in favour of a pay to drive scheme may sound appealing.

What Mr Baker omitted to say is that this is not his own plan, but one the EU is going to force all member states to adopt.

In a Big Brother operation they plan to use black-boxes in our vehicles so all of our movements will be monitored by the highly expensive EU Galileo satellite system.

Far from cutting costs (whoever heard of a government doing that?) it will cost us all considerably more by increasing bureaucracy and it will also be a great intrusion.
