What a change on Wirral estate

I MOVED to Abbots Grange estate in Bebington some 30-odd years ago and it was lovely.

Everywhere was kept well, the gardens and area.

What a change.

The paths are now covered in weeds. With winter coming there are going to be a lot of claims for people slipping.

You are walking on weeds instead of pavement. There used to be someone around weeding and picking up rubbish.

Unless you pick it up yourself it is left which makes everywhere look awful.

It is so sad.

We get newsletters on a regular basis. But all it contains is information on how wonderful the North end of the town is kept.

Special people are employed to do the work mentioned above. Why do they not pay us a visit and sort things out?

Mrs Barbara Develing, Bebington.

I too am a resident of the Abbots Grange Estate in Bebington and cannot see a serious "weed" problem! The footpaths and roads are not overcome with weeds to the point of slipping over, the paths are like any other, if not better than most places in the UK. In this current economic climate, it is not viable to remove the weeds whenever an odd one appears, when there are hard working families struggling to get by because of such heavy taxing getting spent on petty things which could be completed by individuals such as keeping the pavement in front of their house tidy! So much for the "big society"
