MANY readers will have read with astonishment and disbelief the comments from Wirral Council leader Cllr Phil Davies in last week's Wirral Globe.

Does Cllr Davies have any real understanding about what was highlighted in the Anna Klonowski report, that he seemingly is now ready to sweep under the carpet?

Or is he just demonstrating his total and utter contempt for the council tax payers of Wirral now he is in a position of power. Many vulnerable people became casualties and had their lives devastated by the terrible happenings that took place that were ignored initially but then highlighted in the detailed AKA report.

What has happened to bring these council employees to account - NOTHING.

The council may have an improvement board, with representatives from the Local Government Associaton and District Auditor but so far where is the evidence that they are being effective and matters are improving, sadly to the public of Wirral said evidence is noticeable by its conspicuous and ongoing absence.

We now hear the report into the award of the highways contract is further being delayed until after the council leader and his party return from their "trip" to China.

We are only a matter of weeks into this new council regime and what a shameful and insulting display they putting forward to the residents of Wirral - sadly we are back to the bad old ways and bad old days where the leader and his team have no credibility and the public have no respect for them or the work they do.
