Traffic lights are for Wirral medical centre

IN answer to the letter from your correspondent Mr Arnold regarding new traffic lights by the old Warrens nursery site at Thingwall corner, the reason for these lights is the new West Wirral Group Practice medical centre, serving the residents of Heswall, Pensby, Irby and Thingwall.

The roads around Thingwall corner are dangerous to cross - especially for children who have to use the bus stops to travel to school - and older people, despite there being traffic islands nearby.

Sorry if we are spending "your" money or delaying your journey Mr Arnold – maybe you should stay in Bebington, where presumably nobody needs to cross the road safely or visit their doctor.

Patricia Brady, Irby.

This letter only reinforces the folly of allowing this development to go ahead. Not only has valuable green belt land been lost but even more traffic wil be generated at an already overcongested junction.
