I WAS puzzled when I went to Hoylake Community Centre to see the Dong Energy consultation on their windfarm extension plans.
Panoramic photos showed the visual impact of the existing turbines at the Burbo Bank – apparently tiny, shimmering matchsticks barely visible to the naked eye, way, way off in the far distance.
Yet when I walked out of the centre onto the promenade, the reality was rather different – their giant windmills dominate the skyline and seem almost close enough to touch.
In fact I felt like ducking down in case one of the rotor blades chopped my head off!
