Help me form friends group to save Moreton's Linear Park

After reading the letter published last week regarding the closure of Moreton Linear Park, I felt that I ought to let others know that I have the same thoughts. My three children have lost their local park.

Residents who overlook the park have to look at a mess.

I find it astonishing that we pay our taxes yet still have to fight for our children’s facilities.

I recently contacted the council after the play equipment was removed and was told that that it was deemed unsafe.

I was also told that there was no money available to replace the equipment, nor was there any proposal to do so in the near future as this location is “not a priority.”

I then had a meeting with the council, and was advised in order to try to make changes and be heard, I should start a friends group. Please can I ask that anyone who has children who used the facility, those who walk their dogs, and those who are of the opinion that by it being derelict, it creates a local eyesore, to please contact me via the Globe and we can start a petition by becoming a friends group.
