Memorial louts should be paraded at Anfield

AS A resident of Port Sunlight Village, I was not only shocked but also saddened to hear of the attack on the Hillsborough Memorial Garden, by mindless low life who probably couldn’t spell the word respect, never mind know the meaning of it.

When the police finally charge the persons responsible, they will probably get their knuckles rapped, so many hours’ community service and told not to be naughty boys/girls again.

As Draconian as it sounds, the culprits responsible for this should be paraded around Anfield on the opening home game of the coming season.

Let them see for themselves the hurt they have caused to the people who lost loved ones at Hillsborough.

I am sure this would have a more profound effect than any punishment the courts will hand out.

Brian Davis, Port Sunlight.

I totally agree with this and it should be done in the name of restorative justice. There must be some effort to at least try and instill some shame into offenders in crimes such as this. To lock them up, give them an asbo, pay a fine or even a caution simply doesn't fully adress the issue of justice - in my humble opinion.

If what these whelks did was out of something other than plain mindless stupidity, then I agree completely.

There is a difference between just being stupid and being a malicious, hate driven Twot.

Plain mindless stupidity deserves punishment too. How stupid do you have to be to NOT to know that doing it was wrong ?
