FURTHER to the letter from Mrs S. Jones (My mother cannot stand much more . . .', Mailbox, April 16) about nuisance football games, I wish I could advise her to complain to the council.

But I and other residents who are being caused nuisance by youths kicking balls on land owned by a local housing association complained to our local councillors some 12 months ago.

Has the situation improved? Some people would say it is actually worse.

It is a pity the problem of nuisance ball games is not given more priority - it can cause misery to many.

I am currently lobbying my MP to force through government a return to children being sent up chimneys as sweeps. Any incapable of this duty would be rewarded with a dose of rickets. I am sick of children playing, (funnily enough i complain when they vandalise things, drink, smoke, do drugs, listen to music, watch things on TV, read things, join things etc etc etc) and would welcome a return to them being used as slaves with very low life expectancy.

Very amusing "C Dickens" Joking Im sure, but i wonder if you would laugh if you were being harrased as me and my terminally ill mother are. Id like to thank the genuine people who replied to my origional letter offering advise...and to the people that mocked, i hope you never have to suffer like we are.

Good to see the use of personal trauma still being used to shut people up.
