THE 'Angry Driver' letter (Globe, September 21) states "nothing against cyclists..." then goes on to castigate them!

Moronic behaviour is not to be limited to cyclists as I have learned, driving 65 years with road experience on two and four wheels.

Typically, motorhead J Clarkson Esq bases his T-shirt for cyclists logo - Drivers: Thanks for letting me use your roads - upon a myth.

Roads are for the use of everyone, not only motor vehicles, and funded for general taxation.

The so-called Road Fund was abolished by Winston Churchill in the 1930s as he thought drivers would believe they owned the roads!

Currently a Vehicle Excise Duty, it goes to the Treasury.

The nom de plume 'Angry Driver' shows up the demeanour of this person as patience is something sadly lacking on our roads today.

Following a cyclist at 2mph?

Care is needed as at that remarkable speed there is a fall risk; walking speed is 3mph!
