IN REPLY to Disgust at dog mess (Wirral Globe letters), recently I also have had an unfortunate experience with dog mess in the park.
Within the space of 30 seconds in Birkenhead Park last weekend I stepped directly into two separate freshly laid mounds, first with my left foot and then again with my right.
I am flabbergasted that Wirral Council does not seem to be willing or able to keep this historic municipal park (the first in the world) free from dog mess.
In this day and age, with all the advances in modern technology, there should be CCTV cameras covering every inch of the park and issuing on-the-spot fines of several hundred pounds to irresponsible dog owners.
If a modern satellite camera can zoom in enough to read a newspaper from the moon, then surely we can identify these dog-owners who fail to clean up after their mutts.
P Cartridge by email.
