CAN I urge the residents of Wirral to attend their constituency community meetings.

They are held every three months in all of Wirral's boroughs.

It is a good chance for our residents to question their councillors.

Wirral Borough Council wastes millions of tax payers’ money each year, while dishing out the Tory austerity measures and cuts.

  • Recently announced, £1m to refurbish the oval leisure centre.
  • £2m already spent on refurbishment of fitness leisure facilities. A further £2m earmarked for spending on fitness and leisure in 2017.
  • £1.5m has been spent on a new waste bin which is totally unnecessary. £250 spent to promote a new council newspaper, £1m spent on consultations for a golf resort that may never happen (their own admission).

Yet, money cannot be found to fund our disabled community, money could not be found to fund a disabled school for children. Is this what we voted for?

We need to stand up to the people who make these decisions on how are taxes are spent. It is your money, it is your council.

You deserve to have your say.
