I HAVE just spent six months in England, staying at various relatives of my wife in Norwood Road and Mostyn Street, Wallasey.

What a disgusting area it is.

The state of the roads and pavements.

They have not been repaired in the last 20 years. My young daughter tripped at the top of Mostyn Street, because the kerb stone was missing.

It is still missing.

My daughter is grown up with a young family of her own now.

Paving areas are fouled with dog muck and litter.

I was told one of my wife’s cousins was told in 1998 that they would be repaired by 2001 if funds were available.

Eighteen years later, still not done.

It was like living in a dog kennels, dogs howling day and night.

I will be glad to get back to New Zealand; peace and quiet and a clean country.

Disappointed visitor from New Zealand.
