A COUPLE of weeks ago it was Bike to work week.
I used to go to work on my bike but started a new job and it seemed a bit too far to cycle every day.
But I decided to give it a go again, so for a few weeks I tested routes to get from Upton to Wallasey.
Eventually I found a very good cycle route which felt okay for me so I decided to do it a few times each week from then on.
We then had lovely weather, which was nice but it meant that all the plants, trees and weeds grew very rapidly and the route quickly became completely overgrown.
So I contacted the council to report the dangers of dodging nettles and briars ... not really expecting anything to get done.
But I am delighted to say the same day their staff started to cut back all the undergrowth and clear the path.
I just had to write to say a public huge thank you to their team for ensuring mine and others safety and making my journeys to work much more pleasurable.
Keep up the good work, Wirral Council.
