I FEAR Wallasey's Labour MP Angela Eagle is suffering from delusions of grandeur encouraged by her fellow plotters against elected Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn.

The attempted coup against Corbyn, elected by 60% of the membership less than 12 months ago, is a solid conspiracy, organised by a ruling class and political establishment, desperate to avoid a Corbyn-led labour government at a snap general election.

The EU referendum result represents a political earthquake, reflecting an insurgent and angry working class who have lost confidence in all politicians, and are desperate for an end to decades of cuts, failing living standards, privatisation, and deteriorating public services.

Our political master are determined to prevent a similar mass rebellion putting Jeremy Corbyn in Downing Street when an early general election is called in the autumn.

Eagle has stepped forward to play the part of Brutus to Corbyn’s Julius Caesar.

But Labour MPs taking part in this coup should remember that within two years of Caesar's assassination Brutus and all the other conspirators were dead, and his nephew Octavian was emperor.

In a second leadership election, made inevitable by the plot of labour MPs, Corbyn is likely to win an increased majority.

Eagle and her co-conspirators are then likely to split away and form a new party of their own in a repeat of events in the 1980s when the short-lived SDP was founded.
