I WRITE having reading the front page of the Globe that Wirral Council plans to introduce food waste bins, adding to the three that we already have.

My question is how much is the extra bin going to cost us?

The say they are trying to save money.

So how much is it going to cost to supply every household with another bin, take away the green bin and change it for a smaller one with a three-week collection?

Many households still have a brown bin, why not use that?

Not everyone pays for green waste to be taken, so you’ve got an empty bin doing nothing.

So keep the green bins – because if you make it smaller, you’re going to get fly-tipping all over the county – and use the brown bin for food waste.

It’s simple, and will save the council thousands of pounds.

Or has the council got that much money, it’s burning a hole in the council pocket?

But, then again, make the council house such simple minds it can’t think straight.

A simple solution to a simple problem.
