Emperor’s golf resort
REGARDING the article headlined Call to scrap golf resort scheme in Globe on June 8; Cllr Ellis should be applauded by Wirral taxpayers in pointing out that the emperor's new 'golf resort' is, in fact, threadbare.
Hopefully more councillors will now act, joining with Cllr Ellis and Cllr Watt to get this expensive, long- running, fanciful idea dropped.
Rather than criticising Cllr Ellis, our leader should be explaining why, as head of a Labour council, he continues to spend taxpayers' money on this five-star golf resort while at the same time cutting social services.
