IN response to the feedback in the May 25 issue of the Wirral Globe, re – Keep your dog under control.

I'm sure most would agree that it would help matters if dog owners kept dogs on their lead.

Unfortunately what dog owners should do and actually do are two different things.

From what I've witnessed, there are so many dog owners who don't give a damn where their animal makes its mess.

As long as it’s not on their own doorstep.

Go to some of Wirral's nature spots, as I went recently.

Thurstaston Hill, for example; a place I used to enjoy on school trips.

It's full of dog owners who release their dogs. The place now stinks.

It's happening in many public places.

Only a few nights ago I watched a house release two large dogs who dumped their muck on a grass woodland area and returned back to the house.

The dogs weren't even walked.

The person who wrote the comment Dog dirt tales start to stink in the same Wirral Globe paper is obviously a dog owner.

I did make a suggestion that could help to control this serious matter in my last letter.

I'm sure any ideas would be welcome. One thing for sure. It's not a problem that will disappear.
