MY name is Peter Spark from Australia and I am tracing my family history into the Kirkland family tree.
Some of my ancestors who remained in the UK moved to Birkenhead from Scotland.
I am trying to see if there is anyone alive who might remember the Kirkland/White or McLaren families in the Birkenhead area.
John Kirkland moved to Liverpool from Scotland in 1900.
In about 1907 he met and partnered with a Maggie McLaren (nee Wilson) who had two surviving children John McLaren (b 1896) and Edith McLaren (born 1899).
On the 1911 census John and Maggie Kirkland were living at Chapel Street, Birkenhead, with Maggie’s children John and Edith McLaren. John Kirkland died in 1912 at this house. Maggie Kirkland died in 1930 also in Birkenhead.
Her address at that time was Cleveland Street Birkenhead and possibly the address of her daughters.
Any help would be appreciated or anyone who might have remembered them living in Chapel or Cleveland streets.
