REGARDING your recent articles on the tunnel tolls.
Mr Osborne’s statement prior to the last election was that the government would have a review of the fees and the promise of a reduction of the fees in the budget.
I do not see any of our local Labour MPs asking questions in the House of Commons – do they consider that this would harm their election chances or are they not interested in their constituents?
Getting rid of the tunnel tolls would help in lessening the North/South divide of the area.
Or as the play states “Let’s brick up the tunnels”.
Thank goodness for Mr McGoldrick of the Mersey Tunnel Users Association for keeping it in the news.
