WIRRAL Council propose to close their last respite home Girtrell Court.
A respite home for severely disabled people, with physical and complex learning difficulties.
They say it will save £155,000 per year.
They say they have to make cuts due to lack of government funding.
Yet they hold healthy reserves of £120m, they loaned millions to other Labour-run authorities and gave their chief executive a 30% pay rise last year.
In addition, they propose to spend £1m on the refurbishment of the Oval leisure centre and have spent £1m on consultations for the building of Hoylake golf resort, hotel and spa.
So why are they discriminating the disabled people within our society?
Phil Simpson, Merseyside Pensioners Association.
