IN my opinion Wirral Council does a pretty decent job of maintaining the host of roadside grass verges that frequent the more leafy areas of the borough.

They are regularly mown in the summer months.

So it is with some dismay that these areas are ruined by drivers parking vehicles on them, causing untold damage.

Many of the culprits are residents with ample driveways who are just too idle to use them and instead dump their vehicles on the grassed areas.

The council should at least fine culprits by the amount it takes to reinstate the verges.
