THE drop-in sessions for the Hoylake Golf Resort are dire.

Nothing new or meaningful is delivered.

Everything on show and offered is speculative.

The finished result will be different to what we have seen and our time wasted unless our questions are answered.

But what is the point of leaving questions in the box provided, when questions so far asked have not been answered?

Turnout was good, not "excellent" as stated by Ray Squire for the Melrose Hall sessions but the visitors to Westbourne Hall were mainly negative.

Some of the concerns being voiced were: lack of an OS plan, low-lying nature of the land, amount of back-fill required to transform the land, lack of road space for construction traffic, cost of each house not meeting council’s shortage of low-cost homes, number of houses in excess of 150 and value of the 'link road' to the community.

By what means will Hoylake benefit from the resort and destruction of green belt land.

There is an imbalance of opinion in town hall, not a single official has a negative opinion of the venture.

This imbalance of opinion concerns me greatly.

One person was heard to say that the builders will sweep away the entire landscape as if they were using a broom and dustpan and replace it with their own carpet.

This is absolutely correct because the revised land form will be unrecognisable.

Another said that there will always be change with which I agreed.

But if you were a dinosaur 250 million years ago and chose to stay a dinosaur you would have made the wrong choice.

There is no value in choosing a sport or pastime that is declining in popularity.

What do the people of the wards of Saughall Massie, Upton, Greasby, Frankby Grange and Caldy have to say, because they will be affected by heavy road vehicles during the construction period and increased traffic by visitors when completed?
