A FEMALE friend came to visit my elderly mother last week.

Her friend walked round to visit and as she was walking smoking a cigarette she noticed she was being followed by two men aged around 55.

As she reached our front gate my mother noticed two men speaking to her friend and went out to see what was going on.

It turned these two men were from Wirral Council and had followed my friend because she was smoking!

Her friend always carries a metal tin to put her cigarette butts in and does not litter.

Does Wirral Council tell their staff to follow elderly women around, upset them and not even apologise?

Would these two men follow a group of youngsters who were smoking?

I phoned the council to complain and spoke to some young man who couldn't have cared less.

Now I’m all for people not dropping cigarette butts etc but I now feel the council has gone too far.

Perhaps the two men would like to come round and pick up all the used fireworks laying about.
