THIS is to present the facts as opposed to the inventions of Philip Griffiths " Corbyn must not be elected " -Mailbox, October 14.

Many thousands of Labour Party supporters paid £3 to become " registered supporters," which afforded them a vote in the recent leadership election contest.

The vast majority of these were just that, Labour Party supporters. Many have now become fully paid-up, card-carrying members of the Labour Party. They are not " anarchists."

The protest demonstration that took place in Manchester was organised by the TUC to coincide with the Conservative conference.

The vast majority attended to peacefully demonstrate. Unfortunately, and it can always happen when large groups assemble to protest, a tiny minority went beyond peaceful protest.

It is laughable for Philip Griffiths to conclude that the vast majority represent a "great danger to the future of our country " or indeed that what he admits is a "minority" would be in a position to "wreck our economy and affect everybody's lives."

Minorities do not govern. Simples.
