MY DAUGHTER-IN-LAW Ruth Johnson has once again held a wonderful Macmillan coffee morning at the Ridger Pub and Restaurant in Newton, which raised £1,837 for the charity.
Ruth is recovering from her third operation for cancer and is being very brave with the help of her partner, Peter, and their sons Daniel and George.
Ruth had a good team of friends to help her on the day, including myself.
Our thanks go out to the manager and staff at the Ridger, for all their kindness and generosity.
All tea and coffee sold on the day was a big boost to the fund.
Thank you to all the businesses and shop owners, who provided great raffle prizes.
Once again, they were all exceptional.
Thank you to everybody who came to the event.
It was because of you that we managed to raise so much money.
Lastly, a big thank-you goes out to the Macmillan nurses who work day and night to comfort people and see to all their needs.
